Dear Residents
Welcome to my website. I am one of two Labour councillors serving the Chevington Ward which covers Red Row, Hadston, North and South Broomhill. The other councillor who serves with me just happens to be my husband John Morris.
I have served on Castle Morpeth Borough Council since May 1987 and have seen many changes as you can imagine. I am currently serving as Chair of Licensing Committee. CMBC is the Licensing Authority and we are tasked to issue or refuse Licenses to Pubs , Clubs Taxis and Hackney Carriages.
I am also a Board member representing CMBC. Tenants voted to transfer our Housing Stock. LSVT -Local Stock Voluntary Transfer. CASTLE MORPETH HOUSING ASSOCIATION is newly formed under ISOS
I have lived in this area for over 30 years. I understand the problems and concerns we all have. I am involved in many local groups and take an active interest in all matters concerning our ward specifically and in Castle Morpeth Borough Council. generally.
I am presently the Chairman of East Chevington Parish Council and Chairman of Hadston House Youth and Community Building. Recent activities include Chevington Beat meetings in conjucntion with Northumbria Police Force and the new Community Park which is being developed with Grainger Trust as part of a massive Regeneration programme taking place within our Borough.9(
HADSTON HOUSE YOUTH AND COMMUNITY BUILDING is going from strength to strength - it accommodates LIBRARY, VIDEO-LINK FOR CMBC, COMMUNITY CAFE (Michael makes great bacon-sandwiches) and provides a base for local groups to meet, we hold councillors surgeries on Monday mornings and most importantly provides YOUTH ACTIVITIES for our Community.
I can be contact by email at kay.morris@castlemorpeth.gov.uk or by selecting the "Contact Me" button on the menu.
