I have been on Morpeth Town Council for three years and was elected to Castle Morpeth Borough Council in May 2007.
I was born Jean Atkinson in Newcastle and moved to Morpeth with my parents when I was 17. I married a Greek, hence the name, and lived in Greece many years before returning to my family home in Stobhill, Morpeth in 1999.
I am committed to serve the interests of all residents regardless of political persuasion

Thank you to all those who came to our Open Meeting last evening at The Black Swan. This meeting was focussed on what the Service Providers do for our community and what residents want to see happen in Stobhill.
We had a really good turnout and a lot of interest in the proposal to set up a Resident's Forum which would lead to Stobhill becoming a strong community wih a voice to be heard in future decision making.
There was time for individual concerns to be discussed with Service Providers and Councillors informally over a cup of coffee which resulted in a lot of feedback from residents.
Watch this space to see where we go from here.
Your views are important. I want to hear what you think needs to be done, what we should be aiming for and how we can improve life in Stobhill, Morpeth and Northumberland.
