Welcome to my website

Dear Residents

Welcome to my website. I am one of two councillors serving the Chevington ward which covers North and South Broomhill, Red Row and Hadston.

I have lived in the area for thirty-four years and in 1981 I was elected as a County Councillor. I have been Chairman of Northumberland County Council twice in 1994 and 2004 and was Chairman of Education for twelve years. I lost my seat in 2005.

I was elected as a Borough Councillor in 2000. I became spokesman for Housing for a short while but as I spoke strongly in favour of retaining financial support  for welfares I was forced  to resign.

I have been chosen as Executive Member for the Environment.  This is an important role within the council and I intend to fully represent the four areas of the Borough, ie the rural, Ponteland, Morpeth and my own area the Coastal.

Please contact me if you have any problems on my home number 01670 761881.

You can also contact me by email at john.morris@castlemorpeth.gov.uk or by selecting the "Contact Me" button on the menu.
