My history

I have been married since 1962 to Anna and we have four grown up children with one grandson

I was first elected to the Council in 1979 and have served continuosly from then with only having to fight two elections

I retired about 13 years ago from a leading firm of Chartered Accountants in Newcastle       

I am a Trustee and Treasurer of Northumbria Calvert Trust at Kielder. The Trust is an organisation which provides activity holidays for people with disabilities and also for respite care

I have recently become a Trustee and Treasurer of Stamfordham Playing Field and Village Hall

Also I am Chairman and Trustee of the Charity, Sir Thomas Widdrington (Educational) Trust,which provides financal help to people under the age of 25 who live in the parishes of Stamfordham,Matfen, Belsay or Capheaton or have been to School in Stamfordham or Belsay
