Andrew Tebbutt – Current Profile - November 2007 (updated Dec 07)

 

I was elected to CMBC in June 2001 to represent Kirkhill at a by-election, and have subsequently been re-elected in both 2003 and 2007. I also represent Kirkhill on Morpeth Town Council, having first been elected in May 2003.  I live in The Kylins with Joan, my wife, who is the Kirkhill Division County Councillor, elected in 2005.  Both of us are Liberal Democrat councillors.

Deputy Leader Castle Morpeth Borough Council Liberal Democrat Group

Chair – Environment & Economy Scrutiny Committee

Member – Improvement & Communities Scrutiny Committee

Member – Licensing Committee

            Castle Morpeth Working Groups Membership:

·        Vice Chair – Local Development Framework WG – developing the Council’s successor to the District Local Plan – which sets out in fine detail the Council’s Planning & Development policies

·        Chair – Affordable Housing WG – preparing Council’s revised Affordable Housing Policy - policy approved for going out to consultation - from 14th December 2007 

·        Chair – Castle Morpeth Economic Strategy Review WG – looking at three reports recently commissioned by the Council’s Executive Committee, with a view to preparing recommendations for the Executive.  Report presented to Scrutiny end of November - awaiting response by Executive Committee

·        Member – Budget Monitoring Group – monitoring the Council’s current budget and looking at issues for the next year’s budget.

Outside Bodies:

Groundwork Northumberland – Trustee representing Castle Morpeth Borough Council since March 2005 – Trustee responsible for HR matters since April 2005 - Vice Chair of Board & Executive Committee Member – Sept 2007.

·        Chair – Emily Davison Working Group – working to restore the monument in St Mary’s Churchyard where the suffragette Emily Wilding Davison is buried.

·        Town Cryer WG – preparing the quarterly magazine on Morpeth Town Council

Abbeyfields First School – Governor since 2002 – Chair Buildings Sub Committee since January 2006 - also sit on Finance Committee
