The Executive has met for the first time in quite a while and one of the first decisions announced has been the replacement of PPS14 by PPS21.

A follow up to the last post

It's been so long since I actually managed to post anything that I thought I'd just do a runthrough of the last while!

18/8/2008 -  More Flooding! 
Following on from the last couple of weeks we have once again seen serious flooding in the Toome Road area and other parts of Ballymena South.

Last week saw some very heavy downpours leading to flooding in several parts of Ballymena.

We have just returned from this year's convention. This year's conference is of particular interest to Northern Ireland as next year's conference is to be held here. this is particularly significant as SCI despite being an interational citizen diplomacy movement has never held its annual meeting outside the continental United States.

I was delighted to attend the launch of two new Neighbourhood Watch schemes at Ballykeel Business Centre last week.

24/6/2008 -  Trouble in Zimabwe 
I am concerned at the current situation in this part of Southern Africa and believe that the International communtiy is not sending a clear enough message to Robert Mugabe

Today saw the official opening of the new Braid Centre in Bridge Street. It was opened by HRH the Prince of Wales in the presence of the Mayor, councillors and a number of distinguished guests.

11/5/2008 -  Education Debate 
At the May monthly meeting I tabled a motion asking the Minister for Education to end uncertainty around the current eleven plus debate.

Changes to council areas following Review of Public Administration
