Welcome to my website. I am Alderman Jim Shannon, the Democratic Unionist Party elected member for the electoral ward of Ards Peninsula - part of Ards Borough Council and also MLA for Strangford. I am a sitting member of the Ards District Policing Partnership as well as a member of the OFMDFM committee and DCAL committee in the Assembly.
I will be using this site to keep you informed about my work, and to provide you with information about developments at Ards Borough Council and also at Assembly level where I also represent you.
Thank you for your continued support, I do not take for granted the trust that you have put in me along with the responsibility that this entails. I wish to take this opportunity to remind you of the ways in which I can be contacted if you should need my help in issues relating to Housing, Planning, Tax Credits, Benefits and other constituency related issues. I would also like to draw your attention to the fact that we now have a second office in Ballywalter Village Hall as well as surgeries in Killyleagh and Portavogie.
