Follow the link above and have a read of the latest press release Northumberland County Council has spewed out, wanting people’s views on Public Transport. Well listen carefully because I’m only going to say this once, why don’t you actually provide some! Well some decent transport at sensible times, rather than cutting it like you have in the Coquetdale area over the last year. Its time the council put its money where its mouth is, rather than dishing out these ridiculous press releases pretending they actually care what people think! If the council was actually bothered about public transport we would at least have an adequate service rather than the major cut backs they have been making in the rural areas. My favourite part of the press release is where it says: “Realistically, we know this cannot be achieved simply through traditional bus services. We need to be creative to look at how the public, private and voluntary sector can work together to overcome these issues”. In other words we want to improve the services we just cannot afford to so we want other organisations to pay for it for us, because we are £300 million in debt.
Come on County Hall! We’ve had this rubbish for years now, we can see through it.
