Welcome to my website!

 Hello there!

Introduction

Thank you for taking the time to visit my website.  I hope you find the site useful.  If you have anything you would like to contribute or comment on please contact me via the link at the left hand side.

I have been your Alnwick District Councillor since May 2007 and a Town Councillor since March 2004.  I am currently on the following committees:

  • Operations Scrutiny and Overview Committee
  • Development Control Committee (Planning)
  • Licensing Committee

I am also on the following bodies:

  • Alnwick and District Cultural Relations Committee
  • Alnwick District Cultural Development Management Group
  • Alnwick International Music Festival
  • Carer Link Management Committee
  • Northumberland County Council Library Consultative Committee
  • The Harry Hotspur Project Committee, co-ordinated by the Alnwick Community Development Trust

I was elected as District Councillor for Castle Ward, Alnwick, to represent all residents, regardless of their political persuasion. I am however a member of the Liberal Democrats Party and take an interest in all local campaigns. Whilst I am concerned with many issues throughout the District I am particularly keen to resolve any issues within Alnwick town.

Garden Party at Buckingham Palace

July 8th sees the Queen’s Annual Garden Party.  I am really excited about this event as I have been invited to attend this year as a representative of Alnwick District Council.  Myself and Elisabeth Bainbridge will be in attendance and we are honoured to do so.

Elections for New Northumberland Council

The elections have now taken place and there is now a new council who will shape our new Unitary which comes into effect from 1st April 2009.  The existing Alnwick District Councillors (including myself) will remain in post until that date to serve your local community.

Cultural Exchange
I've also been involved with the Cultural Exchange Plans with our twin town in Lagny, France and we are looking forward to visiting them later in the year.

In May we had visitors from Germany, and a group have visited Lagny, France this month too.

There will also be visitors coming from our Twin Towns in Norway and Slovakia this year.

Alnwick International Music Festival 2008

This year's event will be held from Saturday 2nd August until Saturday 9th August.

If you attended last year's event I'm sure you will be excited and looking forward to this year too.  Already expected to perform are groups from Columbia, BelarusPoland, Italy, Switzerland, Isle of Man, Russia and Sardinia.

Watch this space for more details!!!
