Many of you may recall, that in 2007, a young man drowned in the reservoir at Wishing Tree, causing great distress to his parents, Terry and Valerie Cooper, who are Baird Ward residents.

5/5/2010 -  Sussex Air Ambulance Result 
The sponsored wheelchair push in aid of the Sussex Air Ambulance, took place on 13th March. As much money as possible was collected in from sponsors.

20/4/2010 -  In Memoriam 
I am very saddened to learn that my good friend and colleague, Cllr Roy Tucker, died last Thursday following a stroke.

20/4/2010 -  Family Update 
Yesterday (19th) I was able to bring my partner home from the Conquest. Although still very weak and in need of care, the signs for a full recovery are good.

9/4/2010 -  Family Emergency Update 
I am very pleased that my partner is now awake and able to eat small amounts of solid food. The anti-biotics appear to be working very well.

Hello All,
Early on Sunday morning, my partner suffered a massive seizure and was rushed to the Conquest hospital, where he was resuscitated.

Last Saturday, a members of the Hastings & St Leonards Veterans Association helped a car crash victim support his favourite charity, by pushing him in his wheelchair from Eastbourne town hall all the way to the Stade in Hastings.

8/3/2010 -  Armed Forces Day 2010 
Hastings & St Leonards Veterans Association will be hosting Armed Forces Day 2010, in Alexandra Park on Sunday 27th June.

I will be holding my regular monthly surgery on Saturday, but it will be one of the longest I've ever done.

The Sussex Air Ambulance is a very worthy cause and much needed service.

7/1/2010 -  A Winter Wonderland 
This morning once again found Hastings covered in a thick layer of snow, but under the snow lies ice.

Saturday 29th found me joining a group of ex-service colleagues from the local Veterans Association.

29/7/2009 -  A Ships Visit 
On Saturday, I travelled to Portsmouth with three other ex-servicemen, to visit HMS Albion, as guests of the commanding officer, Captain Kingwell.

30/6/2009 -  A Successful Veterans Day 
Sunday saw members of the various ex-servicemen and women gather at the park gates in Alexandra Park to commemorate the first Armed Forces Day to be held in Hastings.

25/6/2009 -  Thank You Morrisson's 
On Tuesday, I joined my fellow veterans at Morrison's in Queens Road, for a fundraising day.

This event takes place on Sunday 28th June 2009 at 10:30am, begining at the Park Gates in Alexandra Park.

Last Tuesday, as the Hon Secretary of the Hastings & St Leonards Veterans Association, I was invited to attend the launch of the new Bexhill branch.

Members of Hastings & St Leonards Veterans Association joined the Mayor, last Tuesday to receive a cheque from the Bull Inn.

Cllr Richard Vallery-Peters met with the County Councillor responsible for Transport Cllr Matthew Lock in Elphinstone Road on Friday.

10/1/2009 -  Veterans Play Santa 
Cllr Richard Vallery-Peters joined other local Veterans Association members to deliver surprise Christmas presents to the sick children at the Conquest Hospitals Kipling Ward on Christmas Eve.

Last weekend saw the 3rd annual Seafood & Wine Festival being held on the Stade.

Residents of Elphinstone Avenue returned home from work on Monday to discover that double yellow lines had been painted outside their houses.

7/11/2007 -  Drowning Tragedy 
On 13th August this year, a young man drowned in Wishing Tree reservoir.

I am pleased to be able to inform you that at full council this evening, I submitted a motion to oppose any further closures of sub post offices within the borough boundary.

23/10/2007 -  Linley Drive Bus Stop 
The bus stop next to the playground in Linley Drive is to be refurbished. After a 6 month campaign by local Councillor, Richard Vallery, council officers have now signed a works order with a specialist contractor, who will carry out the works. This will involve replacing the vandalised panels with a new type of vandal proof material.

Yesterday evening, I strolled down to the Old Town to watch a friend take part in The Great Sea Boot Race, as part of the Old Town Carnival Week. This is one of the many events.
