STATE OF THE ART HEALTH CENTER FOR HASTINGS

Health Minister Andy Burnham has unveiled £50 million in funding for new NHS community hospitals and super-surgeries as part of a drive to provide NHS patients with minor operations, medical tests and follow-up care outside of large hospitals.

As part of the scheme a new health centre in Station Plaza, Hastings will provide walk-in facilities for patients with minor injuries and illnesses, and provide other additional services, such as maternity and diagnostic services. The Primary Health Care Centre will cost £12 million and will house 10 GPs and a pharmacy. The new facility will include consulting rooms for outpatient services and alternatives to acute hospital service referrals.

Work has now started on the Station Plaza site, unfortunately this has resulted in the loss of the Station Car Park, the nearest car parks are the Multi-Story car park in Priory Street and the car park at Priory Meadow.

Once finished the Station Plaza will have underground parking.
