Landfill sites like our own Pebsham will run out in less than 10 years.
Assisted Collection:
An Assisted Collection will not be provided on the basis of a long driveway or the distance to a property boundary nor will it be provided due to absences from the property on collection days.
An Assisted Collection will mean Refuse Collectors wheel your bin, from a specified point on the property, out for collection and return it after it has been emptied. Refuse Collectors will not be permitted to enter buildings (e.g. garages, sheds) to move wheeled bins. All gates need to be unlocked and obstructions cleared on collection day.
While customers are currently receiving an Assisted Collection they will continue to do so, we will be reviewing their arrangements to make sure they are still needed. New requests for an Assisted Collection, will be arranged by filling out the application form if they believe they can meet the qualifying exemption criteria listed below:
-
The applicant is genuinely incapacitated or disabled, either temporarily or permanently;
-
There is not other able-bodied person living in the same property;
-
No family member or neighbour is available to help move the rubbish to the front of the property;
-
The applicant will agree to a permanent alternative collection point;
-
The applicant will be able, if requested to do so, to provide proof of incapacity from a Doctor
To arrange an assisted collection you can get an application form from your local Councillor or from the contacts below.
